The cavalryman is wearing a cuirass with shoulder plates and a helmet that covers the forehead. The helmet sweeps down to his shoulders and is topped with a conical element. The horse is protected by a plated armour covering his body, his legs are unprotected. The horse is standing four square on a rectangular base painted in red, orange, black and white pigments.
Horses like this were found in Ci County in the Hebei province.
