An evenly white glazed lobed Gongxian ware censer on three feet. The base of the censer is unglazed, showing the white pottery.
Gongxian ware are slip-covered daily life stoneware, made in the Henan province. On the coarse body the transparant slip applied in multiple tick layers. The wares are fired at low temperatures, and the slipglaze can turn out to be a ivory tone. The Gongxian wares resemble Xing wares; however Xing wares are fired at high temperatures and are close to porcelain.
